Description

Associated Program:
John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum
Speakers:
Donna Brazile
Maya Rupert

On Friday, March 25 at 4:00 PM ET, the virtual JFK Jr. Forum will host Donna Brazile, former chair of the Democratic National Committee and presidential campaign manager for Al Gore in 2000, and Maya Rupert, IOP Spring 2022 Resident Fellow and presidential campaign manager for Julián Castro in 2020, two of just three Black women who have managed a major presidential campaign. These groundbreaking women will discuss this week's Supreme Court hearings for the historic nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson, the upcoming midterm elections, efforts to build a political system that is more reflective of America’s diversity, and what systems need to change to reshape how we choose our leaders, how those leaders connect with us, and how they govern.

Donna Brazile is an ABC News contributor, a veteran political strategist, adjunct professor in the Women and Gender Studies Department at Georgetown University, the King Endowed Chair in Public Policy at Howard University, and Spring 2001 resident fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School. Maya Rupert is a Spring 2022 resident fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School, a political strategist, writer, and a distinguished fellow with Community Change.
