Description

Meeting Method:
In-Person

How are new generations of Americans engaging in politics? Is the new economy conducive to political engagement? Do young Americans realize how much is at stake for them with the growing national debt, the environmental “debt,” the student debt crisis, and the looming insolvency of entitlement programs? We’ll be joined by JP Chavez, a millennial dentist who took a detour to get involved in politics. Just a few years ago JP was seeing patients every day. Today he works on issues like immigration reform, gun reform, cannabis reform, and climate policy, while continuing to practice dentistry part time. We’ll discuss millennials, politics, and the opportunities and challenges of the new economy to close out our study group for the semester.
