Julie D. Belaga was the Republican Party Gubernatorial Nominee of 1986 for the State of Connecticut. Prior to her nomination, Ms. Belaga was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives since her first election in 1976. While in the House, she served as Deputy Majority Leader (1984), Assistant Minority Leader (1978-1983), and was a member of the Appropriations, Environment, and Planning and Development Committees.
