Absentee ballot requests sent by mail must be received by October 31, which is six days before the general election. Voters are also permitted to bring their absentee ballot request to their County Clerk’s office by November 2, which is the Friday before the general election.

Are there any requirements for first-time voters?
Yes. First time voters who did not provide an ID when registering to vote must include an ID with their absentee ballot request. Valid forms of ID include one of the following: a copy of a current photo ID OR a utility bill, paycheck, government check, bank statement or government form with a voter’s name and address.
