What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?
Applications must be received October 27, which is ten days before the general election. It is strongly recommended that you submit your ballot earlier than October 27, however, to ensure your ballot arrives on time.
What is the voting procedure?
Complete your ballot, ensuring you include your voter number, date of birth, license number, or the last 4 digits of your social security number. You must have the return envelope signed by notary or witness over the age of 18. Mail your ballot back once it is complete.

Absentee ballots must be postmarked by election day, November 6.

Are there requirements for first-time voters?
Yes. First time voters must submit a copy of their ID, either with their voter registration or with their absentee ballot request form. Additionally, out-of-state voters who request an absentee ballot must submit a proof of Alaska residency with their absentee ballot request.
