What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?
Applications must be received by November 1, which is five days prior to the general election. It is strongly recommended that you submit your ballot earlier than November 1, however, to ensure your ballot arrives on time.

What is the voting procedure?
Alabama’s absentee ballot comes with three envelopes, in addition to your ballot. Complete your ballot and put it in the plain envelope. Place the plain envelope in the envelope with the affidavit, making sure you complete the affidavit on the second envelope. You must have your signature witnessed by a notary public or two witnesses over the age of 18. Place the affidavit envelope in the last envelope along with a copy of your ID. Mail your envelope back to your absentee election manager.

What are the deadlines for voting absentee?
Absentee ballots must be postmarked by November 5, the day before the election, and received by noon on election day, November 6. Absentee ballots that are hand delivered must be received by your absentee election manager by 5:00 pm on November 5.
