Summer 2024 Director's Intern - Keely O'Gorman

Keely O'Gorman is currently a sophomore at Harvard College concentrating in Social Studies with a Secondary in Theater Dance & Media. She is from western Massachusetts with Ethiopian origin. Her academic interests are heavily rooted in international human rights, specifically through international law. She has also been performing since she was a kid and is passionate about acting, singing, and dancing. She also hopes to explore directing in the near future.

Here at Harvard, she has been a member of the Community Action Committee (CAC) through the IOP; acted in a play, BLKS, by Aziza Barnes, produced by BlackCast; and is the community events coordinator for the Harvard Eritrean and Ethiopian Student Association (EESA) and a co-director for the Black Arts Collective (BAC). She has also been involved in a number of PBHA programs such as the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, Y2Y shelter, and FASE after-school program. The time she has spent with the kids at FASE especially has been some of her most enjoyable and fulfilling moments. She is also passionate about encouraging community engagement among her peers through the arts and cultural events.

Through EESA and BAC, she is able to connect with other students in and outside of Harvard with similar backgrounds and interests. She loves sharing her culture and love for the arts with open-minded individuals! She hope sto pursue a career that allows her to both cultivate her artistic skills and passions while also fulfilling her goal of working in international relations.
