Senator Edward M. Kennedy was born on this day in 1932. He served as chairman of the IOP Board from the Institute's founding until his death in 2009.

Founded in 1832 as the Harvard Union, the Harvard Political Union (HPU) is the world’s oldest collegiate debate society.  Today, the HPU is the center for political discourse and discussion on Harvard’s campus.
