Overview

Health Action Alliance is the country's largest employer network operating at the intersection of business and public health. Our mission is to support business leaders who are driven to optimize the human experience of every employee, improve workforce resilience and strengthen communities.

We do this by empowering employers with science-backed tools and training to navigate evolving health challenges, providing insights and research to inform business decision-making, and connecting a vast network of employers and public health experts to amplify our collective impact.

The Health Action Alliance has a climate and health program anchored by the National Commission on Climate and Workforce Health. The Commission's work alongside the Health Action Alliance focuses on helping employers across the U.S. understand, manage, and mitigate climate-driven workforce health impacts. The Commission raises awareness among employers about health as a part of climate adaptation and resilience, and provides actionable tools, resources, and playbooks to help employers accelerate action and protect workers from increasing threats of climate change.

The Commission is an initiative of the Health Action Alliance and is supported by Mercer, Elevance Health, The Hartford, alongside other partners. This overall program is powered by Meteorite, a social and environmental firm.

Program Details

This internship position will revolve around supporting the Climate and Health program team's director and program associate in all aspects of delivery of the Climate Health Program. This may involve supporting research and insights through conducting desk research or interviewing stakeholders, communications and content development by drafting content and making it applicable to an employer audience, data management support, project management support, or other event support as needed. This role may also have a role supporting the team's preparations for Climate Week NYC 2026.

Moderate Supervision: Intern will meet with their supervisor regularly, but will be given the opportunity to work on independent projects.

Our work environment is one of psychological safety, collaborative learning, coaching, and personal and professional development. We want Meteorite to be a place where everyone, including interns, can thrive and grow their careers. Despite being a fully remote team, Meteorite prioritizes social connection through biweekly all-staff meetings, weekly team meetings, and coffee chats. Interns are encouraged to connect with team members across the company, including access to senior leadership and mentoring opportunities, but will only report to their direct supervisor. Interns will receive 1:1 support and guidance through regular check-ins with their respective manager. Interns will also be encouraged to have meetings with their cohort should there be more than 1 intern during their time with us.
