Very dependent on time and need of the office, but typical intern resonsibilities and projects involve the following:
- Review of evidence
- Draft memos
- Organize case files
- Observe and note take in court and meetings
The mission of the Erie County District Attorney’s Office is to seek justice through fair, equal, and efficient enforcement of criminal laws. Working with law enforcement throughout Erie County, the District Attorney’s Office works to defend the innocent, to convict and appropriately punish the guilty, and to protect the rights of victims and witnesses.

Moderate Supervision: Intern will meet with their supervisor regularly, but will be given the opportunity to work on independent projects.
We have up to 3 interns for each of our "classes"-- one class of 3 per semester. We have 16 attorneys that work closely with the interns, but all interns begin their work with 1ADA Jess Reger, who runs the internship program. A professional but casual atmosphere in the office, but in court, a very serious and reserved atmosphere is necessary.
This Director's Internship Host will potentially host additional undergraduate interns outside of the Director's Internship Program.
