Overview

Crimson Goes Blue (CGB) is a dynamic, alumni-led organization mobilizing the Harvard community to protect American democracy. Founded in 2019 by Harvard alumni to help win back the White House and Senate for Democrats, CGB continues to foster high-impact political engagement to elect Democrats, protect voting rights, and fight authoritarianism.

Because of the rising threat of authoritarianism — and the inspiration that Harvard’s stand against it has sparked — CGB has become a hub of resistance, community, and action among alumni.

Here’s what we’re focused on in 2025-2026:

  • Retaking the House: Through early investments in key must-win races and plans to mobilize our members in those areas, we’re laying the groundwork now for midterm success. As a learning organization, we're studying "what works" and "what could work" closely in collaboration with a network of some of the nation's leading grassroots voter mobilization groups.
  • Fighting Authoritarianism: We’re building a vibrant hub for alumni action, education, and legal resistance through our financial support of groups like Democracy Forward.
  • Innovating for Impact: Our Innovation Lab is already incubating bold, member-led initiatives to protect democracy, from local organizing to strategic election protection.
  • Growing Our Community: By leveraging the interest in defending Democracy among the Harvard community, we are reigniting engagement through events, watch parties, and outreach to strengthen our capacity and impact.

With just a few months until the deeply consequential 2026 elections we seek interns interested in Democratic politics, organizing, and communication to support our members’ high-impact electoral engagement. Since our founding, diverse interns have been integral to our development and have been given substantive opportunities for organizing, leadership and project management that reflects our ethos and ambitious growth plans. The work includes both long-term projects and efforts that respond day-to-day to the changing political environment.
