- Perform assignments from the APIAVote staff
- Manage or assist with administrative tasks
- Attend events or meetings on behalf of the organization
- Event management: create promotional materials and assist in developing programming
- Develop and draft internal and external documents and materials to build or retain relationships with donors, volunteers, community members, and other supporters of the organization.
- Curate daily press clips on relevant news and public policy issues for the Communications manager.
- Help develop themes and messaging for our national mail program
- Outreach – Increase awareness of APIAVote's goals and the mission it serves to as wide of an audience as possible.
- Inform and assist with youth engagement initiatives

Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote) is the nation’s leading nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to engaging, educating, and empowering Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities to strengthen and sustain a culture of civic engagement.
Location & Format
Monday-Thursday in office from 9:30-5:30pm, Friday remote.
Eligibility
If selected as a finalist, applicants may be asked to submit the following directly to the Host Organization:
- A list of top three choices of what department they would like to be placed in: Development & Operations, Youth, Field, Communications, Policy
Program Details
Moderate Supervision: Intern will meet with their supervisor regularly, but will be given the opportunity to work on independent projects.
We have a pretty relaxed team where you are able to chat and work with any department. During summer cohort we accept interns anywhere between 6-10 so you'll be working with them as well as having group projects and trainings. You'll be assigned a department and a supervisor with a work plan to outline your program.
This Director's Internship Host will host additional undergraduate interns outside of the Director's Internship Program.
- Programming experience (student organizing or conference experience a plus)
- Ability to work on a team
- Strong writing skills
- Administrative experience
- Demonstrated interest in empowering the AAPI community
Additional skills (plus, but not required):
- Graphic Design skills (or literacy with Canva and/or the Adobe Suite)
- Experience working with or at a non-profit
- Leadership experience"
