LOCATION: Washington, D.C. 

Our office is able to host a REMOTE OR IN-PERSON intern (depending on mutual preference).


WORKING HOURS: The intern needs to keep the same business hours as our office.

ABOUT US: The Comptroller is the principal advisor to the Secretary of Defense for budgetary and fiscal matters including financial management, accounting policy and systems, management control systems, budget formulation and execution, contract and audit administration, and general management improvement programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES & PROJECTS: Intern will assist with the DoD Financial Management Community management functions to include administering the DoD FM Certification Program, assisting with strategic workforce planning for the FM community, planning and hosting virtual FM community lectures and seminars, and supporting communication efforts to include social media, written products, talking points, and presentations.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Social Media Management & Marketing, Statistical & Data Analysis, Strong Writing/Editing, Finance. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This office is largely telework capable and functions with the use of MS Teams platform. The organization is relatively flat and we are successful when all members contribute to the mission. Innovation is celebrated. Interns will be exposed to other parts of the Comptroller office and the Department.

EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE: Access to high-speed Wi-Fi, Laptop on loan from host organization, Web Camera, Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite
