Yesenia Ortiz is a rising senior in Adams House originally from Los Angeles, California. Yesenia is concentrating in Studies of Women, Gender and Sexuality with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration and Rights. Along with a passion for social justice taking her through her academics, she participates in Ballet Folklorico de Aztlan, a traditional Mexican folk dance group on campus. She serves as a Student Coordinator for the First Generation Program through the Admissions Office that focuses on offering support to high school students working to be the first-generation in their family to attend college. Yesenia has had the opportunity to work with gender focused non-profit organizations and is excited to return to Equipo Latinoamerican de Justicia y Genero in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
