Tala Atassi is a rising junior in Cabot House concentrating in Social Studies with a special focus on the Middle East. She is from Damascus, Syria and has been increasingly interested in human rights ever since the start of the civil war. On campus, she is a co-founder of the Syrian Humanitarian League and has previously worked in multiple refugee camps. Tala is very excited to be working with Amnesty International this summer on women’s rights and refugee rights among other things. She is thrilled to be staying in DC and for all the many things she is bound to learn both within and outside the Amnesty office.
