Selena Hurtado is a rising senior in Kirkland House from Wichita Falls, Texas. She is concentrating in Neurobiology while fulfilling her pre-med requirements. Outside of the classroom, she is the co-chair of Kirkland House, a research assistant, volunteers with Crimson EMS, and a member of Delta Gamma. She is highly interested in pursuing a career as a trauma surgeon and working with programs to improve veterans' rights and benefits. This summer, Selena will be interning at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. She is looking forward to learning more about Veterans Affairs (VA) issues and working as a liaison between the congressional and VA office. Selena will experience Washington DC for the first time this summer and is excited to explore new interests in the political sector.
