Sarah Rahman is a rising senior in Mather House from Cleveland, Ohio. She studies sociology and is interested in healthcare inequalities and the social determinants of health. Outside of class, she volunteers at Brigham and Women's Hospital and is a member of the Health Peer Advisors and Liasons club to promote health and wellness on campus. She is also a mentor with the Harvard-Rindge Muslim Youth Program, a mentorship program for local Muslim high school students. Last summer, she conducted research to improve heart surgeries in developing countries at Boston Children's Hospital, and has continued to work on the project. She is excited to be working for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria this summer, addressing gender disparities in TB treatment in developing countries.
