
Mikaela Esquivel is a rising junior in Dunster House from the San Francisco bay area in California. She is concentrating in Human Development and Regenerative Biology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy and a citation in Spanish. On campus, Mikaela is a board member of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), a member of the Harvard Undergraduate Council, Expressions Dance Company, and volunteers as a mentor with Strong Women Strong Girls. Last summer, she worked with Support for International Change (SIC) in Tanzania providing HIV/AIDS education and testing through mobile clinics to remote villages outside Arusha. This summer, Mikaela will be interning at the Ministry of Health in Santiago, Chile and looks forward to learning about the policy side of global health.
