Amnesty International, Washington DC
2017

Michelle Liang is a rising junior from Northern California, jointly concentrating in Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality and History and Literature.  She is currently studying abroad with a program on refugees, health, and humanitarian action in Amman, Jordan.  For her last month in Jordan, she is conducting qualitative research with the goal of decolonizing queerness.  Before this, she co-chaired the IvyQ conference, an undergraduate queer conference with attendees from across America and over 50 speakers on a variety of radically queer issues.  She is also a Diversity Peer Educator at Harvard.  She is very excited to return to America this June to work with Amnesty International on international human rights issues.
