Laura Herrera

Laura Herrera is a rising senior in Winthrop House concentrating in Social Studies with a focus on economics and migration. This summer, Laura will conduct immigration and labor policy research with the Government Relations Department of the SEIU, North America’s fastest growing union. Laura is passionate about empowering communities through innovation for social good and is excited to learn organizing and advocacy strategies to that end through the SEIU. Her background includes grassroots political mobilization and capacity building in her native California, and sustainable development work with institutions serving Mexican indigenous communities. She currently serves as Co-Chair of GLOW, an undergraduate organization serving the needs of queer students of color, and is President Emeritus of Harvard-Radcliffe RAZA, a Mexican-American cultural organization. Laura is an active community member of Harvard University’s Innovation Laboratory
