Laura Aguilar

US Department of Education- The White House Liaison, Washington DC
2012

Laura Aguilar is a rising sophomore from San Diego, California and will be a resident of Winthrop House. She is a Government concentrator with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. At Harvard, Laura has been involved with the IOP's Women's Initiative in Leadership and is a student advocate for Health Leads at Boston Medical Center. Health Leads connects low-income patients with basic resources in an effort to treat the underlying social and environmental causes of patients' health problems. When she's not studying or volunteering, Laura can be found at the Harvard Athletic Center as a member of the Harvard women's varsity soccer team. This summer she will be an intern at the U.S. Department of Education, Office of the White House Liaison. She is thrilled for the opportunity to be exposed to the policy-making process first hand as she pursues her interests in health and education policy.
