Karl M. Aspelund is a rising senior in Mather House concentrating in Environmental Science and Public Policy, with a focus on environmental economics. Born in Iceland, he spent much of his childhood in Rhode Island. Both places helped give him a deep interest in environmental issues. At Harvard, Karl is actively involved with the news board of the Harvard Crimson, where he covered the University's Allston developments and the administration of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and now directs the news board's training program. He is also active in the Mather House Committee. Karl looks forward to working at Resources for the Future this summer, where he will participate in research on climate resilience and risk.
