Eriko Kay is a rising junior in Lowell House pursuing a joint concentration in Visual and Environmental Studies and Studies of Women, Gender and Sexuality. Born in Boston but raised mostly in Japan in a bicultural and bilingual family, she has continued to explore her mixed heritage as a board member of Harvard's Japan Society. She has also served as the director of PR for the Organization of Asian American Sisters in Service, a board member for the Women's Leadership Conference and a health educator in Peer Health Exchange. Eriko is excited to spend the summer in NYC at MTV Public Affairs where she will be conducting research for a number of pro-social campaigns, and hopes to have the opportunity to complicate and challenge mainstream understandings and representations of race, gender and queer identity in the media.
