Emilia Gonzalez is a rising junior in Mather House from Katy, Texas. She is concentrating in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. On campus, she is involved with Health Leads as part of the Leadership Team and serves as a day-coordinator for the Cambridge After School Program. Additionally, she is the Harvard Club Tennis Team captain and loves conducting research about heart regeneration with the Lee Laboratory. This summer, Emilia will be interning at the Don McKenzie Hospital in South Africa where she is thrilled to learn about the different components that make up South Africa’s healthcare system; particularly ones that deal with tuberculosis and AIDS. She is looking forward to immersing herself in the South African culture and interacting with the community in KwaZulu-Natal.
