Their work involves distributing grants to health related programs, informing and reforming health and health care policies, and conducting health initiatives with the intent of making sure all New Yorkers have access to the care that they need to lead healthier lives. Some of their current priority areas include building healthy communities, an initiative that focuses on improving access to healthy foods and helping citizens engage in physical activity. Another point of concentration for the foundation is empowering health care consumers, ensuring that citizens are equipped with the tools they need to navigate the health care system, particularly in a time when drastic political changes will affect citizens not only in New York, but around the country. She is excited to delve into the Foundation’s emphasis upon understanding social and environmental aspects that ultimately influence the health status of all citizens.
