Avni Nahar is a rising senior in Mather House originally from South Burlington, Vermont. She studies Sociology and Government with a secondary in South Asian Studies. Outside of class, she works as an intern for the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations and serves on the Mather House Committee and as a peer advising fellow for first-year students. She is also involved with the Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatics Club and the South Asian Association. She is interested in better understanding how the resources of the private sector can be used to effect change in the public sector and to exame how entities such as the government, non-profit organizations, and investors can best work together. She is looking forward to interning at Social Finance this summer to address some of these questions and to learn more about the functioning of a non-profit organization.
