ABOUT US: Global Situation Room is a public affairs firm working with organizations, companies and individuals on causes related to global good, global risk and global trade. We are engagement experts with National Security and White House experience in the Obama Administration. We work with diplomats, thought leaders, change makers, and doers on causes and campaigns. The firm is a strategic partner of Porter Novelli, a multinational firm. The internship is based out of the Los Angeles area, working with West Coast head Johanna Maska, former Director of Press Advance for President Obama.

RESPONSIBILITIES & PROJECTS: We work on global campaigns. Some for clean water, some for women's rights, some for a more inclusive economy. Each with unique challenges. Global Situation Room throws everyone in the deep end to sink or swim, working with high level clients on cool projects, rapid pace and a supportive team, even if remote.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS: 

  • Graphic Design
  • Social Media Management & Marketing
  • Organization, dedication, and a willingness to listen and contribute your ideas.
  • Coding, programing, and foreign language skills are all preferred but not required.

REMOTE WORK ENVIRONMENT: We have Monday meetings every week with the full US team, we have biweekly meetings with the global team. We have offices on both coasts and collaborators on multiple continents. We all share calendars and have a team member who tracks responsibilities. We bring everyone into business development / ideas sessions and bring a collaborative approach to entrepreneurship, bringing our unique skillset to organizations working to solve global challenges. To that end we welcome every new idea, and work with our interns to present the ideas.

TIME ZONE: Pacific

WORKING HOURS: There is flexibility regarding which hours the intern works.

EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE: Access to high-speed Wi-Fi, Personal laptop, Smart Phone, Web Camera, Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), We won't hold it against any applicant if they don't have these items and will work to make sure we provide loaners if need be.
