Functional Duties
Counterintelligence Analysis Student Trainee:
The Intern will serve the agency as a student trainee, and as such, perform a range of duties designed to prepare the incumbent with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform the duties required of a full-time entry-level professional, such as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst. The student trainee's primary responsibility will be to publish all-source strategic intelligence products identifying foreign intelligence use of emerging technologies and cyber activities to threaten the security of critical Department of Defense information and infrastructure. The student trainee will additionally brief their findings to U.S. intelligence operators and executives to further the protection of U.S. facilities, persons, and information.
Mandatory Assessment Factors
1) Formal Education Required. Possesses or is working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in any of the following areas: Cyber Forensics, Counterintelligence, Security Studies, or related degrees.
2) Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
3) Ability to write basic reports and summaries and convey ideas clearly and concisely.
Desired Assessment Factors
• Knowledge of Department of Defense missions and functions; knowledge of the intelligence needs of defense consumers, including warfighters.
• Knowledge of the organization and missions of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise.
Special Position Qualifications Requirements
Level 6 security clearance with HCS eligibility and other pre-employment requirements
