Functional Duties 

The Intern will serve the agency as a Student trainee, and as such, perform a range of duties designed to prepare the incumbent with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform the duties required of a full-time entry-level professional, such as an Intelligence Officer. The Intelligence Officer (student trainee) responsi bilities will include characterization and interpretation of data or creation of related products and visualizat ions to support Directorate for Analysis resource and risk management decisions.

Data may include:

•    Intelligence or business data
•    Structured, semi-structured, unstructured data
•    Acquisition, integration or conditioning of multiple data sets

The Intelligence Officer (student trainee) may develop skills related to:
•    Analysis and evaluation of the reliability and creditability of data
•    Working with big data, data visualization, machine learning, data analysis tools or other data science techniques
•    Familiarization with Department of Defense and Director of National Intelligence policy, national intelligence planning, or intelligence production/tradecraft and the Intelligence Community and consumers
•    Presentation of information for executive decision making

Mandatory Assessment  Factors 

1)    Formal Education Required. Possesses or is working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree.
2)    Evaluates data, trends and processes to identify improvements or determine compliance.

3)    Experience using the Microsoft suite.
4)    Demonstrates polished oral and written communication skills to compose, tailor and deliver original presentations and papers on abstract and exceptionally complex questions or issues in a way that allows a varied audience to understand the intended message and objectives.

Desired Assessment Factors
•    Knowledge of Department of defense missions and functions.

Special Position Qualifications Requirements

Level 6 security clearance with HCS eligibility and other pre-employment requirements  prior to the start of internship.
