She Said: A Story That Helped Ignite the #MeToo Movement

In October 2017, New York Times journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey broke the story of decades of sexual abuse allegations against Harvey Weinstein. Their work helped ignite the #MeToo movement, shift attitudes, and spur new laws, policies, and standards of accountability around the globe. Kantor and Ashley Judd MC/MPA '10, one of the first women to speak out publicly against Weinstein and actress in the upcoming film adaptation She Said, will join the Women and Public Policy Program, the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy, the Center for Public Leadership, and the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School in the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum to discuss how their story helped ignite the #MeToo movement and shatter decades of silence around the subject of sexual assault in Hollywood. Professor Iris Bohnet, co-director of the Women and Public Policy Program, will moderate.
