The Fall 2011 IOP resident fellows discuss how the political landscape has become increasingly polarized. The influence of the 24-hour news cycle and the pressures of fundraising are examined as contributing factors. The outlook for independent candidates may change as the public becomes more disillusioned with their elected officials. A discussion with IOP Director Trey Grayson and IOP Resident Fellows Christina Bellantoni, Diane Casey-Landry, Ron Christie, Tad Devine, Linda Moore Forbes and Steve Grand.
