Dr. Anthony Fauci has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the U.S. National Institutes of Health since 1984. He is the chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden and has advised seven presidents on HIV/AIDS and many other domestic and global health issues, including the COVID-19 pandemic. He will discuss his lifetime of public service in a conversation moderated by AIDS and LGBTQ+ rights activist Peter Staley, a Fall 2016 IOP Resident Fellow.
