Wyche Fowler, Jr. is a partner in the Washington DC office of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy. He also resides in the Firm's Atlanta office. Previously Mr. Fowler was U.S. Senator from Georgia. Elected in 1986, Mr. Fowler was Assistant Floor Leader, a member of the Democratic Steering Committee, and a member of the Appropriations Committee, Budget Committee, the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the Agriculture Committee. Before his election, Mr. Fowler had represented Georgia's 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives for ten years. Mr. Fowler entered public service in 1965, when he worked as administrative assistant to U.S. Representative Charles Weltner. He was elected to the Atlanta Board of Aldermen in 1969 and was chosen president of the Atlanta City Council in 1973.
