Wael Nawara is an Egyptian writer. A regular contributor to various newspapers and magazines such as Al Masry Al Youm, Dostor and Economic Reform Bulletin (CIPE). He was a co-founder of El Ghad Party (2003) and Secretary General of the Party until April 2011. He is a co-founder and member of the general assembly of the National Association for Change and a co-founder and president of the Arab Alliance for Freedom and Democracy (AAFD) – formerly known as the Network of Arab Liberals (NAL), a coalition of Arab liberal parties and organizations. Wael is a published author of several titles that include “The Third Republic, Chronicles of Change", "In Search of the Boy" "Anti-Monopoly and Free Competition”, “The Path to Change”. He writes and lectures on various topics, including political and economic reform, transition strategies, the parallel state, national competitiveness, cultural development and educational reform. Graduated with Honors as a Mechanical Engineer from Ain Shams University in 1984, he later earned Masters in international marketing from University of Strathclyde in 1991. Wael and his wife Ghada have two children, Omar and Yousra.
