V. Lance Tarrance, Jr. is Special Assistant to the Director of the U.S. Bureau of the Census. Previously, he was Director of Research for the Republican National Committee, Deputy Director of Research for the Republican National Committee, and Director of Research for the Texas Republican Party State Committee. Mr. Tarrance is also author of the book The Ticket Splitter, A New Force in American Politics, which he co-authored with Walter DeVries.
