Karen Burstein is the New York State Senator for the 9th Senatorial District. She is a member of the Health, Consumer Protection, Judiciary, Social Services, and Crime and Corrections Committees, and serves as the Chair for the Senate Minority Child Care Task Force and the Senate Minority Rules Task Force. Prior to serving in the New York State Senate, Ms. Burstein was a special professor of law at Hofstra University and a staff attorney with the Nassau County Law Services in Hempstead, New York.
