James Hoge was publisher and president of the New York Daily News from 1984 to 1991. He came to the New York Daily News in 1984 as publisher and in 1986, the New York Daily News was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Commentary. This is in addition to the six Pulitzer Prizes which were won during his tenure as editor and publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times. Mr. Hoge is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, The American Council on Germany and the Overseas Development Council and is chairman of the New York City Partnership Economic Development Committee.
