Ginny Hunt is a Strategy Principal at Google, where she focuses on civic innovation. She also leads Google’s Politics & Elections team, which works around the world to spur civic engagement, open societies and free expression through the political process and across digital platforms.

Hunt was an early member of Google’s Washington office and the founder of Google’s Public Sector Product and Engineering team. She advises startups, political leaders and nonprofits on how to develop digital strategies for political change.

Hunt began organizing in middle school, co-founding a local youth action council in her hometown south of Nashville. Ginny got her start in domestic politics as a director of Generation Dean, building a youth movement and online organizing platform that spurred over a thousand local organizations in less than six months.

After the Dean campaign Hunt organized Emerging Progressives, a national summit of young progressive leaders to strengthen talent development and mentorship in politics. She also co-founded RootsCamp, which brought the unconference model into political organizing.
