Study Group with Asa Hutchinson: Executive Leadership: Fiscal Sanity and Sustainability
Description
Registration is Closed
Is it possible to control federal spending when it is not a focus of the presidential candidates? What structural changes are needed in Washington to assure our national debt does not crush our future? The federal budget was last balanced over 20 years ago. The current spending deficit is $1.9 trillion and the national debt is $35 trillion, which is $104,000 per person. For the first time in history, the interest on the national debt exceeds $1 trillion. As you graduate your generation will inherit an indebted America. We will discuss structural changes in Washington that will mandate that spending be taken seriously.
Our guest, David Walker, was also a leader in the No Labels effort, and the potential of 3rd party candidates will be an added discussion item.
