About Jaime Harrison
Jaime Harrison is a seasoned leader with over two decades of experience in politics, government, strategic communications, and organizational management.

As Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), he played a pivotal role in shaping public discourse, rebuilding the Democratic Party infrastructure, and navigating complex political and governance challenges on both national and global levels.

During his tenure as DNC Chair, Harrison oversaw the Democratic Party’s operations, strategy, and national convention planning. Under his leadership, the DNC raised approximately $1 billion, expanded voter engagement efforts across all 50 states, and strengthened the party’s digital infrastructure. Notably, he oversaw the best midterms election for an incumbent President since the 1930s and managed the transition of the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee, overseeing one of the most unprecedented political shifts in modern history.

Before chairing the DNC, Harrison ran for the U.S. Senate in South Carolina in 2020, setting a fundraising record with $132 million, the highest ever for a Senate candidate. He previously served as an associate chair of the DNC and was the first African American chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party. Harrison, co-authored the book, “Climbing the Hill: How to Build a Career in Politics and Make a Difference.” The guide for young politicos chronicles Harrison’s experiences and lessons learned as one of the top leadership staff in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Beyond politics, Harrison has an extensive background in the private and nonprofit sectors. As a Principal at the Podesta Group, he advised clients across industries, including transportation, defense, technology, and healthcare. He also served as Chief Operations Officer and board member of Peer Forward, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing college access for low-income students.

A South Carolina native, Harrison was raised in Orangeburg, SC and overcame significant financial hardships to earn a scholarship to Yale University, where he studied political science. He later obtained a law degree from Georgetown University. Jaime and his wife law Professor Marie Boyd live in Columbia, South Carolina, where they raise their two young sons.
