Protecting the Civil Rights of Asian-Americans

Speakers:

With the unprecedented rise of violence against members of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, we find ourselves in a moment of reckoning with the longstanding history of racism and misunderstandings around this diverse and vibrant community. How has continued inflammatory rhetoric around immigration and coronavirus pandemic created an atmosphere that emboldens people to perpetrate attacks on members of the AAPI community?

In observance of Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Institute of Politics is honored to host CEO and Founder of Rise, Amanda Nguyen ‘13, interviewed by Weijia Jiang, CBS News Senior White House Correspondent, on Friday, April 9th at 1:00pm ET. Nguyen and Jiang will grapple with questions around recent events and give voice to how the AAPI community can be seen and heard.

RSVP here to join the conversation in the virtual JFK Jr. Forum.
