About Xavier Cunningham
Xavier is a Supervisory Attorney Advisor in the Executive Office for United States Attorneys. His work focuses on supporting the Financial Litigation Regional Program Specialist and Asset Investigators. Prior to taking on this role, Xavier served as the Assistant Director of the Legal Programs Asset Recovery Staff, where his portfolio included Asset Forfeiture, Money Laundering, Financial Litigation and Bankruptcy. Xavier began his DOJ career as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Georgia, where he served as the Chief of the Asset Recovery Unit.
In his official capacity, Xavier has taught Money Laundering and Asset Recovery for prosecutors, investigators, and private sector stakeholders throughout the U.S., and has also participated in capacity building engagements in several African nations, including Zambia, South Africa, Egypt, Namibia, and Kenya.
Prior to joining the DOJ, Xavier was a Senior Consultant at Deloitte in their Governance, Risk, & Compliance practice, and prior to that, he was an Associate at JP Morgan Chase, in their Global Financial Crimes Compliance unit.
Xavier graduated from Harvard University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts through Extension Studies and in 2013 obtained a Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School. Xavier is licensed by the New York Bar and is admitted to practice in the Southern District of New York and the Southern District of Georgia.
