About Alexander Burns

Alexander Burns is POLITICO's Senior Executive Editor, North America. He has covered politics and power for nearly two decades, including as national political correspondent for The New York Times during the 2020 presidential election. Born and raised in New York City, he is a graduate of Harvard College, where he edited the Harvard Political Review. In 2022, he co-authored the bestselling book “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden and the Battle for America’s Future.” He lives in Washington, D.C., with his family.
