    Join us on Tuesday, March 2 at 4:30pm ET for a study group with IOP Fellow Bill Kristol. Bill Kristol is a founding director of Defending Democracy Together, an educational and advocacy organization dedicated to defending America’s liberal democratic norms, principles, and institutions. Kristol has long been recognized as a leading analyst of American politics and has helped shape the national debate on issues ranging from American foreign policy to the meaning of American conservatism. Kristol served in senior positions in the Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations.

    Bill will be joined by Sarah Longwell, Director, Republican Accountability Project and Defending Democracy Together.

Nsé Ufot is the Chief Executive Officer of the New Georgia Project (NGP) and its affiliate, New Georgia Project Action Fund (NGP AF). Nsé leads both organizations with a data-informed approach and a commitment to developing tools that leverage technology with the goal of making it easier for every voter to engage in every election.

  3. Study Group with IOP Fellow Governor Steve Bullock

    Thursday March 4 - 4:30pm

    Join us on Thursday, March 4th at 4:30pm ET for a study group with IOP Fellow Governor Steve Bullock. Born in Missoula, Montana, and raised in Helena blocks away from the State Capitol, Steve Bullock is a product of public schools. Bullock was elected Montana’s 24th Governor, serving from 2013-2020. He worked with a Republican-majority legislature to improve access to health care, kick dark money out of state elections, make record investments in education, protect access to public lands, invest in infrastructure, and strengthen Montana’s economy.

    Governor Bullock will be joined by Tiffany Muller, President & Director, End Citizens United.

  4. Study Group with IOP Fellow Bonnie Glick

    Tuesday March 9 - 4:30pm

    Join us on Tuesday, March 9th at 4:30pm ET for a study group with IOP Fellow Bonnie Glick. Bonnie Glick is the former Deputy Administrator/Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. Agency for International Development where she served from January 2019-November 2020 after her unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate. She oversaw the operations of the Agency with its $20+ billion budget and 11,000 staff in over 100 countries around the world.

    TOPIC: The Global Threat Emanating from the People’s Republic of China. The real world today is one with an emboldened People’s Republic of China and leadership of Chairman Xi and the Chinese Communist Party.  Pundits and scholars refer to a Great Power Competition, but a competition implies that players are playing the same game, on the same playing field, and following the same rules. This is not the case in the strategic rivalry that has emerged between the United States and the PRC.  

    GUEST: We will hear from former Deputy National Security Advisor Matt Pottinger on a range of issues that address how the U.S. must address an empowered and emboldened PRC.

  5. Study Group with IOP Fellow Mayor Michael Tubbs

    Join us on Wednesday, March 10th at 4:30pm ET for a study group with IOP Fellow Mayor Michael Tubbs. Michael Tubbs was elected Mayor of Stockton in 2016 at 26 years old. He was Stockton’s first African-American Mayor, and the youngest Mayor of any major city in American history. Prior to his election as Mayor, Tubbs served as a Councilmember for the City of Stockton District 6, a high school educator, and a fellow for the Stanford Design School and the Emerson Collective.

She has spent most of career covering Congress and national politics, including the last three presidential campaigns and many midterm elections.

    TOPIC: Inside the Biden White House.  How the president’s first 100 days are looking to a senior Biden advisor, who also worked in the Obama White House and has decades of experience as a political strategist.
