Study Group with Raul Alvillar: Political Messaging - The Role of Identity Politics in the Midterms

Increasingly, identity politics are proving to be more important in crafting a winning message in an election.  For both Republicans and Democrats, mobilizing their bases are crucial to turning out the vote. We will discuss how this may affect the midterms, voter participation, and how creating targeted messaging to specific identity groups can be effective. We will also discuss how the current political climate is shaping identity politics. We will be joined by Julie Chavez-Rodriguez, Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs to have this important and engaging discussion one week out from the midterm elections.

RSVP here by 10:00 AM Thursday, 11/3  You must register through this form and a limited number of seats will be allocated for in-person participation. We will notify you at noon the day of the study group via your Harvard email whether you will be joining in-person or via Zoom.
