Join us on Thursday, September 30 at 5:00pm ET for a Study Group with IOP Resident Fellow Holly Kuzmich

Education Policy Over Twenty Years: From No Child Left Behind to Every Student Succeeds
This second session on K-12 policymaking will explore the evolution of education policy.  We will dive into the implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act, how messaging continued to be an issue even after its passage, and how the law was changed and reauthorized a decade later. We’ll also explore how the education landscape looks today and what the major battles facing K-12 education policy are, especially after COVID-19 impacted the way students attended school over the past 18 months.

Holly will be joined by Margaret Spellings, former White House Domestic Policy Advisor and U.S. Secretary of Education under President George W. Bush.

*RSVP by 10:00am ET on 9/30. You must register through this form and a limited number of seats will be allocated for in-person participation. We will notify you at noon the day of the study group via your Harvard email whether you will be joining in-person or via Zoom.

*AUDIENCE: These conversations are open to members of the Harvard community. Please RSVP with a valid Harvard email address.

*OFF-THE-RECORD: In keeping with our long tradition at the IOP to ensure honest and candid discussions of politics, all IOP study groups are off-the-record.

*The Institute of Politics is strictly observing all HKS COVID health and safety protocols. HKS buildings are closed to the public and attendance will be limited to the room capacity.
