Study Group with Gloria Browne-Marshall: Poetry Can Be Dangerous - Art, Activism, and Service 

Poet Alyssa Gaines will discuss her work and the role of poetry in creating a better society. Throughout history, poets have been at the forefront of political movements and a force for change. Whether spoken word or poetry, it can change minds, communities, and the world. Alyssa starred in "In The Heights" at A.R.T., performed at the Kennedy Center, and has written spell-binding poems such as "Blue Dashers" and "Lagrimas Negras." Poet, writer and singer Alyssa Gaines is an artist, activist, public servant and student at Harvard College.

Gloria will be joined in-person by Alyssa Gaines, the 2022 National Youth Poet Laureate and Harvard College '26.
