Study Group with Gloria Browne-Marshall: Documentary Films - Show Me Who You Are
Description
Study Group with Gloria Browne-Marshall: Documentary Films - Show Me Who You Are
"Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom" and "Becoming Frederick Douglass" are powerful new films by Stanley Nelson, a legendary documentary filmmaker. Documentary films influence communities and change minds and capture imaginations. Documentary films can address social and political issues of the past and place them in a current context. What role does the documentary filmmaker play in social movements? What is the balance between information and inspiration in the making of a documentary film?
Gloria will be joined via Zoom by Stanley Nelson, documentary filmmaker and MacArthur Fellow.
