This study group will look at the different offices – local, state, and federal – that provide opportunities for service and how and why potential candidates match their interests and experience to an office and how and why they choose to jump in. The study group will look at examples of both traditional and non-traditional paths to elected office, traditional and non-traditional candidates, and how old stereotypes can and are being shattered as our public officials have more diverse and varied backgrounds.
