The Jack Abramoff scandal is one of the most consequential modern political scandals, sending a member of Congress, staffers and lobbyists to jail, while ushering Nancy Pelosi to the Speakership. The class would discuss the how a communicator deals with a scandal so long-lasting (the repercussions of which are still being felt), one in which the principal is fundamentally dishonest with his staff, and how that impacts the job the communicator can do.
